The Netherlands have named a 15-member squad for their upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 matches in Dubai, where they will face Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Bas de Leede will captain the side, with Scott Edwards, Colin Ackermann and Max O’Dowd also included.
Having already secured a place in the 2027 World Cup Qualifier, the Netherlands can use these matches to test combinations and give new head coach Ashley Noffke a closer look at his players. However, a place in the Qualifier does not mean they have qualified for the World Cup itself. They must still progress through the next stage to reach the main tournament.
Bas de Leede to Captain the 15-Member Squad
The squad includes several players with international experience, while giving the coaching staff options to try different combinations during the series.
The Netherlands squad is:
| Player | Player | Player |
| Colin Ackermann | Shariz Ahmad | Noah Croes |
| Cedric de Lange | Bas de Leede (captain) | Daniel Doram |
| Aryan Dutt | Scott Edwards | Fred Klaassen |
| Kyle Klein | Michael Levitt | Zach Lion-Cachet |
| Max O’Dowd | Timm van der Gugten | Paul van Meekeren |
Qualifier Place Secured, but League 2 Points Still Matter
According to the ICC’s update on 15 October 2026, the Netherlands are third in the League 2 standings with 38 points from 32 matches. Their place in the 2027 World Cup Qualifier is already confirmed.
The USA have secured the League 2 title with 49 points from 36 matches, while Scotland are second with 45 points.
The Netherlands’ opponents arrive in different positions. Oman are fourth with 33 points from 30 matches, level on points with fifth-placed Namibia, who have completed all 36 of their games. The UAE are eighth with 19 points from 32 matches.
The Dubai series therefore carries different stakes for each side, with results affecting their final positions in the competition.
Ashley Noffke Focuses on Combinations and Emerging Talent
Noffke’s priorities for the tour include developing the team’s playing style, testing combinations and building on the foundations already in place.
He also sees the series as an opportunity for young and emerging players to show their ability at international level. With a Qualifier place secured, the Netherlands have a chance to assess their options while continuing to compete for league points.
The Royal Dutch Cricket Association appointed Noffke in September, replacing Ryan Cook, on an initial contract running until the end of 2028. His responsibilities include guiding the team through qualification for the 2027 ODI World Cup and the 2028 T20 World Cup.
The Dubai matches will therefore form part of a wider effort to prepare the squad for those challenges.
Netherlands Begin Their Campaign on 25 October
The tri-series runs from 25 October to 4 November 2026. The Netherlands will play four matches, facing the UAE and Oman twice each.
| Date | Fixture |
| 25 October 2026 | UAE vs Netherlands |
| 27 October 2026 | Netherlands vs Oman |
| 31 October 2026 | UAE vs Netherlands |

The UAE and Oman will also meet on 29 October and 4 November.
